Whenever Trump feels he is not getting enough media attention, he tweets some attention-getting statement "I want to buy Greenland" or "North Korea better watch out" or "We should invade Venezuela", etc.
As a person with Narcissistic Personality Disorder, Trump has a constant need for attention and praise. Whenever he feels he is not getting sufficient praise of his greatness and constant adoration, he becomes frustrated and unhappy. So he issues some statement to draw attention back on himself.
Normally, when a President wanted to make a statement, he would issue a press release, after consulting with his staff. Trump, however, just blurts out on Twitter whatever he is thinking about at the moment. With no review by a press secretary or staff, Trump is constantly tweeting nonsensical, reckless, confusing statements. Trump has no concept of the duties and responsibilities the office of President carries. This is what America now has in the White House.
