I Am Not Very Close With My Relatives

One of my best friends is my cousin, I love her so deeply. However, it's so difficult for me to develop close relationship with most of my relatives. I tried in the past and I was stabbed in the back by some of them. And it amazes me how much they make me regret trying to build bridges with them. I wouldn't say I'm the "perfect relative" neither. I have my fair share of neglecting their rights, which is wrong.

I have learned that keeping relationship with relatives "on the surface" is the way to go, because trying to dig deeper might cause us pain.
