I Love and Hate Arguing Politics

I’m not real into politics. But one thing I do know is that they are mostly full of shit. Things are not black and white in politics. People against abortion Yes I agree it wrong. But it’s just not that easy. And with gun control we’ll its not the guns it’s the ppl. It’s mental illness that is the problem. We really need to work on the mental illness problem we have.

Indeed, mental illness is an issue that has bled into the right to keep and bear arms. I think it is reasonable to want to keep guns out of the hands of the truly mentally ill, just as I don't want guns in the hands of violent criminals or terrorists. I also know that this is not any one, nor combination of laws that can stop someone from getting a gun if they want it.

The stats indicate that in approximately 80% of the violent crimes in which a gun is used, the firearm was acquired illegally.

The gun grabbers will use mental illness as a lever. Look at how the ERPO laws have been implemented. In states where these laws have been implemented, your firearms can be confiscated without due process. All someone has to do is let the police know they think you are a danger to yourself or others. You are guilty until proven innocent. This is fundamentally wrong, and a very slippery slope. Did we not learn anything from how Brett Kavanaugh was treated?
