How do the German people view war movies or documentaries of both World Wars?

We, in North America, watch war documentaries and movies and think we are justifiable in liberating Europe from the Nazis. What about the Germans, do you watch your own peoples' soldiers with admiration and valor as ours did? I am interested in the German point of view.

same way any other country talks about there wars. us teaches about there civil wars or uk about our imperialistic era.

and just playing devil's advocate here: if the holocaust never happened hittler might have been regarded as a great leader. anything other that that a justification could be argued for but holocaust was beyond any redeemable feature he had.

(coz i know someone will throw a hissy fit consider this my disclaimer: fuck hitler, fuck all the racist skinhead neo nazi dickeads that are around now.)

Too bad.
Nazis were animals.
US and allies were justified.

@PainfulTruth I know...I spoke with an Austrian man over a beer by the outdoor firepit and he was neutral about it. He rather talk about how it was like than the philosophy of the Nazi Regime. One guy on here blasted me when I said the word "blitzkrieg" while chatting about the war. He says that it was hurtful and very insulting to "us" germans. I apologized and was confused as it was just a term to describe their war tactics during the discussion.....felt bad afrerwards.

@PainfulTruth his method/ views were absolutely wrong. What he wanted wasn't really.

You may call England/France heroes for fighting against Nazies. What do you call them for what they did in countries like India/Algeria?

It's just germany lost. So one evil was conquered by another evil.
