If you send someone a selfie after you’ve been texting back & forth consistently for a full hour...

and they don’t respond or comment about your selfie right away, do you automatically think they’re no longer interested in you?

If someone sends me pics, I do my best to respond right away because I don’t want them to think that I thought anything bad of their selfie.

I’m not referring to someone who sends you d pics out of the blue, but someone you’ve been talking to for a while.

you, in particular, are a very conscientious person, and i assume you are texting with a male.

although it might cross my mind that they might not be interested, it's more likely they're staring at the pic, then trying to take a decent one to send back.
@pentacorn yes. It is possible
marsbar · F
@pentacorn Possibly, but when they respond an hour or hours later, I’m no longer thinking that they’re trying to take their own selfie. 😄
pentacorn · F
@marsbar yeah, hours is no good. i would be like,... "well?"

have you seen them at all yet?
@pentacorn usually it’s best if you just talk to them on video call and see if you like that person.

shhhh.... I`m looking. 🤭

@mysteryespresso that seems pretty common nowadays, to just video chat with someone you meet and like online. i've only done it once, and we dated for years after, but i made him wait for 3 months of texting and emailing first. i was very nervous!
pentacorn · F
@Degbeme lol... i love you so much 💜
@pentacorn no that’s right. Better to know the person well

Once I met someone online and we’d talk on long long emails.

I don’t know if that person is dead or not they just stopped replying one day

It was back in 2014

@pentacorn I love you soooooooooo much too. 🤗💜

@mysteryespresso they're probably still alive... although we will probably never know for sure!
marsbar · F
@pentacorn No. It’s just an etiquette thing I’ve noticed, whether it’s on here or men I’m talking to irl. I’d be thinking “well” also. Sure a video call is good, but people still send selfies every so often. So it’s interesting when it comes to response times. It can turn me off honestly if it happens too often.

@pentacorn If he waited that long for you, he was really interested then & was probably a good match. ☺️
pentacorn · F
@marsbar yeah, i agree. if they don't show appreciation for the effort of sharing yourself in good time, it's a killjoy. there's a theoretical window of opportunity (not sure of the exact amount of time), because sometimes things don't go smoothly starting out. it does become more apparent it's not gelling as the clock ticks on, though, for sure.
marsbar · F
@pentacorn Oh for sure. I can tell when it’s not working out even with just texting. At that point, I don’t bother making plans to meet, & we eventually stop talking.
pentacorn · F
@marsbar it was a very good match! i'll probably never come close to that experience again in my lifetime.
pentacorn · F
@marsbar yep. it's amazing how chemistry, or lack of it, is detectable via texting.
marsbar · F
@pentacorn Awww I’m sorry. I do hope you experience that again.

Yes, & it often just takes a few minutes even to sense chemistry over text or not.

@marsbar thank you. 💜
