Do you remember the best dinner of your life?

In my case, I cant really say but I feel that dinner in Goa back in 2016 was the best as I ate crab for the first time.

@Bushmanoz An event that only effects those left behind perhaps. But for me, deaths opposite is birth. Space created in you heart for something new to enter life.❤️

@Trippy A lovely way of looking at it

Yes. I just can't remember which one of the ex's took me out for dinner! 🤣. We went to a French restaurant, and we ordered planked Chateaubriand for two with little swirls of twice baked potatoes gratin, escargot to start, a bottle of really smooth red wine, and creme brulee for dessert.
YES, I do... ( I could stop there since that's all you asked; just teasing)

Simply fresh, wonderfully presented, delicious in scent and taste.

It was a breakfast at an Mennonite Bed and Breakfast in NW Ohio.
We started with rich, freshly ground hot coffee, real cream and sugar
Small glass of pineapple juice
A beautiful fruit salad:
melon, kiwi, grapes (on multiple plates with doilies)
Amish sausages (OMG; and I wasn't even a "sausage" girl; you can get them in Ohio)
Homemade French Toast---
made from freshly made Cinnamon Bread
with REAL butter and maple syrup.

Topped (and we could not eat anymore)...with a special "sweet roll" that they make
for guests.
Going out to eat with my parents 40th wedding anniversary. They didn’t live long past that but that made that night extra special in retrospect

You should try steamed Alaskan King Crab Legs just once...with drawn butter. Then you can die and go to heaven. 😇

For the experience, back in the 80’s a group of 10 of us went to Maxim’s in NYC. The ambiance was pretty incredible. The food was ok. The wine list was insane. We has a ton of fun and limo’d back to CT. Dinner was $5k.

If it’s solely about epic food quality, my best meal was at a French place, The Chanticleer in Sconset on Nantucket. Maybe it was the mood, or a one time thing, but the meal was an actual 10. Every serving literally melted in your mouth. The sauces were amazing. There was an apple pastry dessert that I must’ve dreamt it was so good. Another experience that’s never been replicated.

Yes, but it's probably because of the friends I was with. It was sort of an end to the 'good years' before I made a significantly wrong decision in my life ☹️

I enjoyed a brunch in London back in 1984 where they served a lot of English type foods but I remember black pudding the most and while it wasn’t particularly tasty it allowed me to try something I never could have before.

@Pfuzylogic Did you like it?

I can be strange that way.
Sometimes taste doesn’t drive my liking a food but the fact that it was new and I couldn’t find it to eat it anywhere else. However tripe in Nancy, France was different. It tasted incredibly “gamey” and I couldn’t get the taste out of my mouth.
