Could you survive the next 12 to 15 years in a stereotypical prison, separated from the general population?

KristinaM · 36-40, F
Yes. I’m pretty good at living in my head. I wouldn’t want to but I could survive.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@BoobooSnafu You're twisting my intention.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@TurtlePink You would think, right... but here we are. So...
@MarkPaul nope , im not .
If You say what you mean, then it's clearly understood .

😁you're trying madly to twist your way out of saying something very presumptive that was horribly wrong .😆

May I suggest "sorry"?

Ego often obscures us from seeing where we are wrong.

And there's no shame in being wrong .

It's what you do with it that matters .
BlueVeins · 22-25
stereotypical? I'd fucking die for sure. An average prison? Yeah, I'd make it.
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
Man has gotten pretty good at adapting to whatever environment he’s dropped into over time.
One of the benefits of a regimented life is that it gives structure to your day.
So you don’t have to worry about when you’re going to eat; sleep; work. It’s all planned out for you.

Of course in ‘real life’ you get to choose whom you live with - to some extent anyway. Obviously can’t say the same for prison. And no doubt there may be some determined to make life difficult for no other reason other than that they can.
That being the case I guess it’s best to learn the ‘rules’ of your environment quickly.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@Picklebobble2 No... you're going on and on about how it makes no difference as though it's all incidental to you. I'm challenging you to get past your ego and acknowledge all would be lost... otherwise there is no reason NOT to go to prison. Life is more than "the basics." Damn it.
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
@MarkPaul Right, but if it's got as far as prison, you're not dealing with the world you LIKE you're having to deal with a different one !

The best way to deal with a different one is to take advantage of the positives within it.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@Picklebobble2 That's pretty mechanical, mate.
Survive?,probably yes.

Come out undamaged socially and emotionally...prolly not.
As a gay man in Ca. I wouldn't have to be in GP. No bubba for me thanks.
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
@Grateful4you gay men don’t go to GP? That’s news to me .
@AthrillatheHunt Actually, some prefer it.
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
@Grateful4you preferences aside, gay men are offered the option of not being in GP? Your post made it sound that way.
Poppies · 61-69, F
I suppose I could if I could read and write as much as I want.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@Pfuzylogic I have studied the psychology of incarceration and how jails are traditionally set up. You don't have that kind of background, I'm sure. Limit your comments to things you know.
Pfuzylogic · M
@MarkPaul
Wrong again!
That doesn’t surprise me.
I can tell by the other thread you picked on the wrong person,
With enough pain you will learn.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@Pfuzylogic Oh, okay.
Zeuro · 26-30, F
I mean I wouldn’t die so technically I’d survive but what of my soul
I won't live that long either ways lol
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@PiecingBabyFaceTogether Here is what I "hear" from you. You are being controlled by your environment. We can be primed by the environment. If we don't control our environment, the environment will take control of us. It's a matter of emotional "productivity." And productive emotion is created by motion so you can transform.

Are you willing to put yourself in motion so you can transform yourself to be emotionally productive?
@MarkPaul Honestly no I'm not 😁
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@PiecingBabyFaceTogether Well, at least you are holding yourself accountable for your right to make your own decision. And, that's something! Congrats. I love that you are no victim.
Steve42 · 56-60, M
oh please....
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@Steve42 So, you're ready? 🤨
Steve42 · 56-60, M
@MarkPaul Yes.
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
@Steve42 in the dictionary next to the word “poser” is that picture.
Pfuzylogic · M
It ain’t a thang but a chicken wing.
Eclipsed · M
If I had a guitar maybe
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@Eclipsed You could make one in your wood shop therapy session. You have to pay for the materials though...
Lila15 · 22-25, F
Chauvin will be separate from gen pop, but not in solitary confinement. He will be housed with other cops and child molesters.
Lila15 · 22-25, F
@MarkPaul Putting him in gen pop would be a death sentence. But it must be humiliating for cops to be in prison with perverts. Imagine if he was with one he had arrested himself.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@Lila15 Yeah, that would be tough to handle.
Pfuzylogic · M
@Lila15 He is a wimp.
Someone in PC will take him out just right.
I do not think so....

When I was in my 20's I had a friend who spent most of her 5 year sentence in "the 23 hour hole". The one thing I can say with absolute certainty is "Prison changes you, and not in a good way"
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
No
Which is the primary reason why I don’t commit crime . My morals are admittedly reason number two
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@AthrillatheHunt 🤨 I would like to see your 1 and 2 switched in order.
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
@MarkPaul you’d like to see me lie ?
I’d like a ten inch dick but it ain’t gunna happen dude .
Nyloncapes · 61-69, M
I don’t think so , but no one knows how people act when in situations , untill there put in a position
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@Nyloncapes Oh...? 🤨 You will be placed in solitary confinement for a period of no more than 20 years and not less than 12 years. And, then we will know.
JimboSaturn · 51-55, M
I guess I would survive, but I don't think I would be the same when I get out.
duckduckbooze · 46-50, F
Yes.
I've experienced something similar and so I am good with entertaining myself.
chrisCA · M
I would do a lot of reading.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@chrisCA And, that would satisfy you? 🤨
chrisCA · M
@MarkPaul It would help. Take online courses if possible.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@chrisCA I don't think that will be possible... for the time being. Sorry.

DragonFruit · 61-69, M
I don't even know if I'll live that long if I stay out of prison.
YMITheWayIM · 46-50, M
I don't think so.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@YMITheWayIM But, you don't know... for sure. 🤨
YMITheWayIM · 46-50, M
@MarkPaul Not knowing is another weakness
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@YMITheWayIM I see... 📖
Allelse · 36-40, M
No other prisoners? Sounds fine to me.
WanderingThrough · 31-35, F
I highly doubt it.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@WanderingThrough Oh, another one. But, you don't know... for sure. 🤨
HannahSky · F
Isolation would be depressing
Maybe? I'm pretty resilient.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@TurtlePink 🤨 You better come in for questioning.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@Quetzalcoatlus Thanks for your honesty.

MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@Stereoguy OMG. The correct answer is, "no." You would never survive. Your soft, self-absorbed, and too caught up with modern day conveniences.
