Should I be concerned?

I live on a small farm on the edge of a very small town. In a neighbors field behind us a man walks out of the brush at dusk. He walks out into the open field and then disappears back into the brush as soon as he sees we've noticed him. This happens about 2x a week or maybe more. The owner of the property is an unfriendly elderly man so I'm told that lives on the far side past the brush. The man that comes into the field in the evening is probably in his late 30's or early 40's. He doesn't appear to be hunting and its not hunting season. If he is supposed to be there why does he keep hiding? Also past the brush down a ways from the property owners house is a power station. Someone could easily park there and walk into the field. The other evening when we drove by it there was an older beat up pick up truck parked behind the power station. I dont know why I dont have a pic of him out there.[image deleted]

Remain suspiciously cautious. Is there any water back there (ponds) ? Take pics of the license plates you see parked back there by the power station. If you see, hear, or smell anything unusual call the sheriff and report a suspicious person. Give them your info (pics) if they appear interested

@morrgin So a blue bird day is a special event?
morrgin · F
@TexChik the sun is sometimes a UFO
TexChik · F
@morrgin Here is high clouds and sunny, no wind , about 68
I don't like the sound of this at all. I'd at least let the police know. Sounds as if someone could be planning a break-in. Better safe than sorry. I hope you'll stay safe. Secure your windows and doors. I'd honestly get an alarm system or a German Shepherd.

Could have some weed growing out there? As a kid we used to see a man in the woods close by our place and one day we found about six pot plants in pots. He would come by periodically to check on them
morrgin · F
@Jpfunjunky Marijuana is legal in Oregon. Anyone can grow it.

I would contact the neighbor to let him know and possibly contact the police just so they are away.

I’d contact the county sheriff regardless
morrgin · F
@SW-User I probably will. Most likely I will talk to the other neighbor who has lived here his entire life first. He'd know if it was out of the ordinary I would think.
SW-User
@morrgin yeah. Do both of those. But certainly contact the sheriff to get the report/concern documented-on record

Maybe he plants marijuana there. Happened behind a vacant house lot where I used to live in a village. My neighbor had borrowed a pan from me and let the dog eat leftovers out of it and apparently carried it away. I walked around the village looking for my pan and discovered some marijuana plants growing on her husband’s lot behind his vacant rent house.

Better to report it to police.

Call the police

I don't know enough about what's normal in the back country, but yes... some caution is merited.
FurryFace · 61-69, M
dunno looks like a homeless guy out there maybe , trying to stay away from people
morrgin · F
@FurryFace I thought that maybe too. Last night he came into the field and started walking one way then stopped and turned the other direction, and then stopped and went the previous direction. Reminded me of someone who is mentally ill. He looks clean cut though. He he a close cut nicely groomed beard and wears a good quality heavy flannel jacket.

Sounds like something terrible is about to happen.
morrgin · F
@RodionRomanovitch it does doesn't it? But it probably won't. Its most likely just a good idea for the starting plot to a murder mystery.
SW-User
Sounds pretty sus to me. Maybe he's a peeping tom.
Every horror movie begins this way

@BiasForAction or a good horror book

I think TexChik gave you the best information. I think if it was me I would put up a game cam or some sort of video surveillance around your home. Also, if you call the sheriff he might put up game cams also near where you see this guy going in and out. I would be very careful of this.

Thats terrifying
That's really strange.
