Elderly people...are any of you concerned about catching COVID-19?

luctoretemergo · 61-69, M
I’m more concerned about being called elderly ! 😃
Someone at work said I’m in their Deadpool !
I said if I don’t die I want a piece of the pot!!!!
Death be damned!!!!
@luctoretemergo 👍🏽
I'm not, actually, although I'm not enthusiastic about it either. My deeper fear is catching it and passing it on to someone I care about or even someone I don't know.

I'm not no, the grave waits for everyone
I just don't want to infect anyone

Hey you young whippersnapper. Get off my lawn! 🤨

I don't consider myself elderly even though more of my life is behind me than is before me however no I am not at all concerned about catching the virus. From all the stats I can find it isn't that deadly and since I have no underlying conditions I am not likely to be killed by the cold virus.

Nope!
I was up the hills in the fresh air today and had the place all to myself.
Life is great - don't waste it young folk! Get out there and live it!

How old is elderly to you?
SubstantialKick · 31-35, M
@cherokeepatti Well according to research it seems to be 65+.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@SubstantialKick I’m 64 and in Oklahoma they are advising anyone 60 or older to,stay home if they can
The data is showing a significant % of people who've contracted COVID-19 are under the age of 60 and developing serious symptoms. There's more to being in a high risk group than just age or being immuno-compromised.
Not really. I’m more concerned with my octogenarian parents, who are so far okay, and my 50-something sister, who has actually been sick. Knock wood we will all get through this.

But thanks for asking. 🤨
SubstantialKick · 31-35, M
@bijouxbroussard No problem, lol. And I hope your sister gets well soon.
No.If I get it I get it.Not that 62 is elderly....And I am going out shopping.

No, ive had the flu before
Tastyfrzz · 61-69, M
I'm 59 and while dying is not very likely there is the risk of long term lung or kidney damage and that is regardless of age. So I'm hoping to sit this one out. Let the youngsters who won't listen and the trumpsters who are only listening to their God of greed get it and create the herd immunity.

They should be.

@bijouxbroussard very true, it's really not only the high risk category of people who need to be concerned. Everyone is at risk right now and it could be very serious for people of all ages. California is predicting 56% of the population coming down with the virus.. truly hope that estimate is incorrect or will go down.
@HannahSky indeed. I’m hoping perhaps the Governor overstated it as a worse case scenario in order to receive all the resources we’ll need to fight it.
HannahSky · F
@bijouxbroussard I hope so too, it's seems high, but the medical community didn't come out and dispute it.
