did you ever participated in a school play?

I did..since our plays were on english despite being a catholic spanish speaking school. I played Noah for Noah's ark. and we did our own version of the blair witch project. it was called don't look back lol. I was the only survivor only to die in sequel lol.
DRtist102 · 31-35, M
Yes many actually. I was in the drama club all through high school. They always did two performances during the year and there was only one that I was not a part of!!!
Dancingxghost · 36-40, M
@DRtist102 musicals??!! wow thats another level I can't sing
DRtist102 · 31-35, M
@Dancingxghost 😂 yep I was really into singing and that stuff in high school. I was in back to the 80s, Bye Bye Birdie, and Cinderella
Dancingxghost · 36-40, M
@DRtist102 did you dance too?? it just baffles me..cause the plays I was in never had like a big audience..now I hear you sang and stuff!
indyjoe · 56-60, M
Once...I was in a school production of A Christmas Carol. I was one of the two solicitors that came to Scrooges office seeking donations for the poor. I also participated in a couple of comic sketches. That was along time ago.
Dancingxghost · 36-40, M
@indyjoe we didn't do any christmas stuff mainly cause everybody wanted to leave as a soon as possible.
indyjoe · 56-60, M
@Dancingxghost It was done around Christmas but not at or during.
Dancingxghost · 36-40, M
@indyjoe now that i remember around christmas we didn't had a play but a small carnival? you know games..overpriced food and bad music.
DunningKruger · 61-69, M
Not in school, but I did play Uncle Louie in a community theater production of Lost in Yonkers 20-some years ago. I really enjoyed it, but it took up so much time I never went back to do other plays.
Dancingxghost · 36-40, M
@DunningKruger sounds like you could have done more plays.
DunningKruger · 61-69, M
@Dancingxghost I might have, except the upcoming productions at the theater were things I didn't even have any interest in watching, let along acting in. The place was run by old theater geeks who had no interest in doing anything but old chestnuts.
Dancingxghost · 36-40, M
@DunningKruger ohhhhh..yeah thankfully school plays allows you to do a bit more imaginative stuff.

it was traumatizing and painful. i learned what it was like to be a disappointment and a failure at five years old. spacecase missed my cue for what felt like five minutes. everyone just standing there. i was one of the seven dwarfs. my kindergarten teacher yanked my arm real hard all mad after. i was abused! and my dad just gave me this look after. i'll never forget it.
Dancingxghost · 36-40, M
@Penny sorry to hear that. sounds pretty harsh for someone so young.
nahright09 · 41-45, M
Grade 5...i was a beefeater with one line in a play called "it's a small world"

"don't worry kid, we'll be there soon, Just hop inside this red balloon"

i hate my brain and the fact that it remembers this.
Dancingxghost · 36-40, M
@nahright09 I can't remember any of my lines..but I bet it was really lame.
[c=#359E00]i never participated in school activities[/c] 😑
Dancingxghost · 36-40, M
@YukikoAmagi yeah also when the narrator made the last part where I died I just fell down head first and banged my forehead against the floor and a huge ouch came out of me while I was "dying".
@Dancingxghost [c=#359E00]amateur[/c] 🤭
Dancingxghost · 36-40, M
@YukikoAmagi yeah now I know you have to fall sideways lol.
SweetMae · 70-79, F
That sounds like fun.
Dancingxghost · 36-40, M
@SweetMae for a comedy that's gold!
SweetMae · 70-79, F
@Dancingxghost It was very memorable for us. I am sure it was for them too.
Dancingxghost · 36-40, M
@SweetMae such a sweet memory!
SW-User
School intermission and dance.
Declamation and graduation performances. Lol
Dancingxghost · 36-40, M
@SW-User wow the whole deal. I just did a couple of them. cause it was needed in order to improve my grades.
SW-User
@Dancingxghost hahahah i had to or I'd fail the subject 😂. It's mostly for PE and calisthenics.
Dancingxghost · 36-40, M
@SW-User mine was kinda like a struck deal I would participate as long as the mid term exam was a positive grade. lol
Gelartsyyy · 22-25, F
Yup!! The recent one was "Six Characters in Search of an Author".
Dancingxghost · 36-40, M
@Gelartsyyy sounds like a cool play.
Gelartsyyy · 22-25, F
@Dancingxghost Tbh the story was confusing and the play was kind of challenging to perform, but it was a lot of fun!
Dancingxghost · 36-40, M
@Gelartsyyy thats the only part that matters!
xixgun · M
Couple of hundred years ago, yeah. Not so much a play as an "assembly".
Dancingxghost · 36-40, M
@xixgun what does that mean?
SW-User
Yes I have
SW-User
@Dancingxghost I acted and wrote a script.
Dancingxghost · 36-40, M
@SW-User so you were the author as well?
SW-User
@Dancingxghost Yes. It was pretty fun.
basilfawlty89 · 31-35, M
Yeah, and I didn't like it much.
Dancingxghost · 36-40, M
@basilfawlty89 how come?
MethDozer · M
Yes. In grade school we were forced to do it. It was awful. Only reason we had to do It was because the teachers hated children and liked making them do things we didn't want to do. Only logical explanation.
Dancingxghost · 36-40, M
@MethDozer yeah but it helped my grades.
MethDozer · M
@Dancingxghost I went to a family member's school play as an adult. It was just as horrible to watch as it was to be in.
Dancingxghost · 36-40, M
@MethDozer uhhh..that must be even harder to stomach.
