How do you know when a particular food has gone bad?

when the stuff in the back of the fridge has grown fur...and moves a little

When you have to chew your milk instead of drinking it

when it smells worse than your own farts.

Unless it is cheese.

I tell whoever I'm with to smell or taste it....lol

When in doubt throw it out!

The problem is with plastic packaging you are likely to pick up some of the chemicals from the plastic in the food, not healthy at all. Even if the food is not spoilt.

Unless it is obvious the food looks unappealling and smells bad.

Foul smell is usually very indicative of spoilage.
