High school reunions: are they dying out because of computers or we're too busy...or? Have you ever gone?

I went to my 10 year and won "Least Changed." What'd I win? A T shirt-- which I gave to a friend...

At my high school, on our final day in 1960, we vowed we would never every get together again as a group. Never have a reunion. Some one tried to break the vow about 20 years ago, and organised a reunion at which he was the only guest.

@ArthurP Wow! That's what I call....dedicated... severely(!) dedicated! 😝
ArthurP · 80-89, M
@PeachesGR If you had spent 7 years in an all boys British Grammar school starting 1953, you would fully understand such 'severe' dedication! I envy those who can get together 30-40-50 years later and enjoy an evening soggy with nostalgia and happy memories. My happiest memory - this is true - is running out of the prison-like gates on that last day in 1960!!!! Thank heavens every day of my life since then has been joyous.

@ArthurP Ohhh, I see. Thanks for clarifying.
🤗 I'm glad things have been good or relatively good since then...

I reckon computers is a good thought, makes it easier to stay connected to the people you liked from high school. Though I'd never go to one even without computers, ugh.
PeachesGR · 61-69, F
@Allelse I strongly recommend not going.... unless you were very very popular, maybe not even then...

I went to 2 ....and the food was horrible, the music was blaring (even louder than most bars!), the "mood" lighting was so dark, I couldn't tell who was standing there... and I'd have to yell at them anyway, over the music. It was so bad, it was comical! Seriously.
everyone realizes they didnt really like a great deal of ppl they knew?.
@PeachesGR i think i remember that name ..
PeachesGR · 61-69, F
@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout Peaches was my favorite cat... but I really have no idea if my name had that in it...
PeachesGR · 61-69, F
@PeachesGR And yes, I certainly had some people I wanted to avoid...
Thevy29 · 41-45, M
There was a High school reunion and they forgot to tell me about it... Hmmm... just like high school all over again.
PeachesGR · 61-69, F
@Thevy29 That's not right-- there is no excuse now that they're adults!
Steve42 · 56-60, M
I didn't like those people back then, why would I want to see them now?
SW-User
They forgot to invite me to mine, so i have never been to one so far.
SW-User
I didn't go to any highschool reunion.
Coolkid77 · 31-35, M
Nope, my 10 year reunion will be next. I don't really care too much about a lot of those people. I only talk to and hangout with maybe 10 of them. Only on social media that I follow them.
