Would you choose to live if you diagnosed with a life long illness?

SweetMae · 70-79, F
One day at a time!! Be as positive as I can. Do what I can for myself.

I have been diagnosed with Tuberous Sclerosis. (Not sure if I spelled that right) There are 12 known symptoms and you only need to have 3 of them to be diagnosed with it. I have 9.
The Neurologist described it to me as having Epilepsy, Schizophrenia and Dyslexia all at the same time... It's the Brain Tumors associated with this that I have to look out for.
I do have a life long condition.

depends what the illness does

I guess it would depend on the illness.

Some can make you stronger.

And Some can break you.

That's why I don't judge when it comes to depression, self harm and suicide.

We can't ever fully understand a person's life and pain.

But, I say yes.

A person can live with an illness.

I do.

I have depression now so I don’t actually want to live at the moment but I think if I didn’t have a mental illness and it was only physical like you sated I think I probably would hang on to life more.

@SW-User I've had depression most of my life from childhood trauma. I've been able to deal with it and it has made me stronger in many ways but I'm worried it's now manifesting in physical desease. I wish I'm wrong but life feels very toxic.
