Have you ever missed something you never really had?

Like, suddenly you find there's this hole inside of you, this piece missing. And you know it was missing all along, but you were able to ignore it. You had this means of not focusing, not needing it to be filled; or even worse...something or someone comes along that, often through no fault of their own, draws attention to the gap and you just know deep down that they would fill that gap, and bring you one step closer to feeling complete, but they never quite fill it before they're once again gone.

It's not always people...it's drugs, tv shows, jobs, musicians, all these things that can impact and change our lives, make them better, but often just on the peripheral, making you see how incredible life COULD be, but never quite letting it fully form.

And then when it's done and gone, that hole becomes so much harder to ignore
Yes. I have never had family and there is no substitute.
