Do you think people give up easily?

Seems like people these days can't handle a simple disagreement/misunderstanding. And that's online AND in real life.

They don't know how to settle anything and come to an agreement. They'd rather walk away from a childhood friend, friend on 10 years, etc...

People are strange. Is it something in the air that causes them to act this way?🤔

Yes we definitely are going through a very disposable period

@SW-User Good way to put it " disposables".

@seeandhear I agree. I'd love to experience the time where people didn't have cell phones, tv etc. I watched a documentary about it and it seemed so nice. Older people talking about liking someone and having to go find a phone booth? or whatever to speak with them.

I think people are gradually losing communication and negotiating skills. We spend less time talking in person, less time talking on the phone. E-mail and texting is the prevalent mode of interaction now. Yes, it is faster and more "convenient," but we are losing contact with one another as human beings. Having said this, I have made meaningful contact with people here whom I would never have met otherwise.

@Byron8by7 yea i have too. those folks are gone. One was slightly my fault, I'll admit. The person kept telling me that I'd never find the job I wanted. Not those exact words. If i still had the conversations I'd post the wording.. he kept saying it over and over. He was upset in HIS work and therefore spoke to me like i should settle, because he did.

@iamnikki Although you and I communicate here on a limited basis, I want you to know that I value our interaction.

@Byron8by7 well thank you. you seem decent as well.

Some people are like that, yes. It's sad, but some people apparently value their pride, and being right about everything, above relationships. :(

I think narcissists are the worst culprits. There is a genetic factor involved in that, and also possibly some childhood trauma, but ultimately it is a person's choice to be that way.

@JohnDillinger right, it's so stupid. Why not communicate?

Yup. Intolerance to the core. Its basically the upbringing that is in vogue. When everything is granted systematically, one just assumes things are smooth. There are no hurdles or obstacles that they need to negotiate. And when all of a sudden they face ressistance or disagreements, they are unable to face it.

Is it something in the air ? Yes.. the education system as we are in education abundance best described as "too many masters but no slave"..

Of course they do, and that's sad.

I guess people fear to be disappointed over over since patterns tend to be repetitive
The age of participation trophies and consolation prizes.. equality 👌
