I Feel Alone

Why does my brain decide to flash back painful memories constantly. I don't understand why.
I really hate complex PTSD. this is horrid.
[c=#359E00]is your PTSD formally diagnosed by doctor or specialist? or just self diagnosed?[/c]

@YukikoAmagi been diagnosed by the mental health doctor that I see; alongside my phycologist. It hasn't been properly assessed by a Psychiatrist due to a long waiting list unfortunately. I've been doing therpy for over a year. I've been told it's a long road to recovery as I've experienced traumatic event after traumatic event.
I've also been put down as having borderline personality disorder also.
@Unbound97 [c=#359E00]that's unfortunate, you're still young[/c]
@Unbound97 bpd comes from getting hurt and no closure, no resolution...you're supposed to absorb and rationalize all that..I mean really..and to label someone like that is indeed a putdown

when they mostly can't do that grief and closure therapy and drug people up instead and/or get them locked up...
trauma requires attention, its your body's way of telling you to work on your issues in your life, but in a self loving kind of way. do u enjoy writing, or any kind of expressive activity, sometimes meetups exist 4 body movements and pantomime, you know...just put yourself outside the ordinary "box" for better ideas 4 your future progress..

something got broken and the healing will work around it like a cared-for wound, as it heals with your cooperation and a good friend or 2

Hugz😊

It is. Have you had professional advice to help you recover when this happens? Techniques for grounding perhaps?

@PhilDeep not really. We have tried techniques around my moods and if I get overwhelmed. We haven't gone into much about the flash backs except for 1 of my sessions; where I've been experiencing never ending flashbacks of my best friends funeral. I went into detail about it. Spoke about it 2-3 times over in the one sitting. I was completely distressed 😭
I've been told to find time to write about it in detail. To make sure i do it on a day where I'm not working and that I have a good distraction after ive finished writing about it.
I haven't written about it because of fear mainly and a lot of anxiety. Also its just too damn hard to tjink about it. Unless it just comes on suddenly where I relive it again.

@Unbound97 It's very hard and I don't think there are easy solutions. At least you have some support, for what it's worth. Hopefully you'll keep chipping away at things together and in time make some headway. All the best to you anyway. Take care now.
Your not alone, mine hits me when I try to sleep, horrible nightmares of my childhood happening over and over again,
