I Would Go Back In Time If I Could

Go back and fix my mistakes stop my stupid decisions
Stop me from hurting those I love
Make it so I can wear short sleeves without feeling eyes on my wrists
Just to stop the pain
I think we all wish we could fix our mistakes and stupid decisions. you are not alone in that.

Hurting the ones you love does seem more in your control, even though it might not seem so. Does thinking of those you love help to get you a little outside of your head--where we nearly always see things as being about ourselves--and help you see yourself and your life in a broader context, in a good context?

The eyes on your wrists...that is hard. And the pain I wish goes from you.

Well I have learned from my mistakes
finally come to grips with who I am
and finally happy with who I have became
maybe with you being young you would not alter anything important
But with every mistake I've made ,life always turned around
I am scared ,and even though the scars on my wrists are not from attempted suicide ,most people think they are
mine are actually from rescuing people ,not harming myself
But any events I changed might alter my now
Its not worth the risk to me
I might save myself some pain ,and not hurt so many people
But I also might not be in the place I am today
Life is a series of lessons ,,learn from them
face your fears ,don't run from them
fix the things you can ,accept the things you can't
We can't go back one second no matter how hard we wish we could
Live for today ,your not promised tomorrow
It will have enough challenges of its own
Love who you are today
Forgive ,,and don't forget to forgive yourself
thats all we can do ,,wishing is not going to change anything
it only wastes time ,,some of us don't have

@rckt148 forgiving myself is proving to be the hardest
rckt148 · 61-69, M
@SW-User it was for me too
I am bad about not wanting to let go
and believing everything was my fault alone
(growing up with an abusive Mom who blames everything on you will do that to you )
But I learned to take life day by day
Trying each day to do better then the day before
I put myself out there ,I am working to be a better person
you see things in me that need work ,tell me ,I'll work on it ,,( only a fool wont take correction when they are wrong)
I have accepted I can't fix my past ,some parts I will never live down ,all I can do is prove to myself ,I am no longer that man ,and my failures were lessons ,a base line to learn from ,,,but I am not the only one in this world who has ever made them ,,anyone who is successful has made their share
Forgive yourself ,eventually others will too
act like a victim and this is all you deserve ,thats all you'll ever have
When I was 23 I lost my first wife and my 3 kids
when I was 34 I lost my second wife
At 35 I had my kids back ,,and now I am a super Dad
and grandpa ,,all my grandkids are now almost grown
Who do you think they look to for guidance ?
The man who has been there ,made a lot of mistakes
but I overcame ,,I did not let it end me

don't be discouraged ,,I know most young people don't like me saying this ,,,but you won't even really know who you are and what you want till around 30 -35 ,,then it all starts making a little more sense ,,your mind is finally mature
We put away childish things ,and act like adults
at least the wise ones do ,some prefer to remain kids

I'm sorry. It has to hurt so much. I hope there's good days ahead for you.

@CountScrofula me too I'm recovering but it's a long road I just hope I don't trip again
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
@SW-User I hope so too! If you do trip, forgive yourself and get back up. Relapses may happen as you recover. As you said, it's a long road.
SW-User
@CountScrofula thank you for your kind support 😁

I wish I could go back and fix my mistakes too, but don't worry so much about your wrists

It speaks of your pain and being brought low in the past, but only fools will judge who you are now on your past to start with
SW-User
@th3r0n you are right just don't like when people ask about them
th3r0n · 41-45, M
@SW-User I understand, but some of those people might be asking because they went through something like that or knew someone who did

Don't look at it as weakness, look at it as you were broken down to the point that you were weak then but you won't let yourself be anymore, make them a reminder of how much stronger you are now and do all that you can to live up to that
SW-User
@th3r0n I will do that
