I’ve never owned a swamp cooler before…

And now that I’ve bought a ladder to get up to said roof to examine the swamp cooler I now see why shit is not turning on…

@MethDozer Yeah, she didn’t do a lot of upkeep on this thing. Broken connections damaged solenoid, like damage on the roof, overfill valve is clogged w shit, and the intake copper connection is rusted away.

@AnthroKenji when I went west and first saw those things I was completely confused and boggled by them.
I couldn't wrap my head around adding moisture to your air when it is hot coming from such a humid climate.

@MethDozer Ha I’ve seen them just never owned one now it’s needing work and I YouTube the shit outta this to learn. It’s Getting hot.

@AnthroKenji That's a lot of mineral deposit to break off. You're going to need an acid to break it up and then replace the pads and probably the water pump and float.

I'd just buy a new one honestly.

@MethDozer Yeah? Mmm I wonder how much the electric work will cost.

@AnthroKenji not much. They run cheap, mold and mildew from a mishandled unit is the biggest pitfall of them

@MethDozer Mmm okay maybe buy the exact same one use the old connections?
