The thing about home makeover tv shows...

They show the before and after of the rooms...the before photos always have curtains or blinds on the windows. After they makeover they show the home but none of them that I’ve seen have blinds, shades or curtains. Who lives in a home without blinds at least on their windows?

Designers don't like to clutter up their designs with window treatments.

We didn't have curtains (that worked) in our living room because we lived on top of a hill about a hundred yards from the road, and you had to climb the stairs to the deck to see inside. I saved myself some money by putting single panels at the edges of the windows. That gave the appearance of curtains, at least.

And I've seen those glass houses with no curtains at all...apparently the people who live in them like to share everything about themselves. 😉

Lol! So true. We utilize in our home both vertical and horizontal blinds, shades and curtain shears 😃. To me windows have/need to have some or all those things added to them in my opinion @cherokeepatti 😃

@seotelkniwt Well any home looks brighter without those added. They show tiny homes online with people already living in them and I see few of them with window coverings. I wouldn’t live in a home without privacy on my windows...might pull up the blinds all the way in the daytime but after dusk the shades go down.

I have voiles so that if anyone was to walk past, they cant see right in to the house. As soon as the lights are turned on, then the curtains are drawn. It's quite amazing though how many people around here don't do this.

@pennynoodles I have mini blinds...they are easy to pull up if I want a lot of light, have light curtains in the bedroom that are open and mini-blinds to close at night
