What do you think of smart homes ? How much of it have you implemented or want to do so in your near future?

My mom talks about how the government uses it to spy on us or something, so she's made me kind of paranoid. I've also read more than one story where all technology comes back to bite people in the butts, so that's not helping, either.

I do not see the purpose of it. I do NOT want it in my house. I don't need all the bells in whistles. 😂

The home security system has a lot of that stuff built in but most of it I haven't activated

The entire IOT concept is moronic on multiple fronts. From the big brother aspect to the maintenance and diminished reliability of the most basic of things. It only adds problems, issues, costs, and complexity while providing a novel and gimmicky solutions to problems that don't really exist.
