I Do Not Like People to See Me Cry

That is very true for me, but whenever I break down crying I really want someone to hold me and tell me that everything will be okay. Why...

I gave up on that long ago. I've always been sensitive, tears at appropriate places at movies, etc. Fortunately I had friends and lovers who understood. But after my wife died, I'd find myself in the grocery store, walking down an isle and a song would start on the sound system and the tears would run down my cheeks. At first I'd try to hide them from sight but soon I didn't mind. They were MY tears. They were rolling down my cheeks because I loved. Although no one ever asked about them, I wasn't afraid to answer for them.
It didn't help when I lost the next wife. The sights, songs and thoughts still came, and the tears still flowed. I still don't care and still no one asks. With the walls down now, commercials on TV and many, many other things spur the tears. Now, my worry is not people seeing me cry but keeping my glasses clean.

We look for someone to empathize with us, we look to fill that void.
