@Tminus6453 How about PUBG?
Tminus6453 · M
@DDonde No idea what that is

@Tminus6453 PUBG is another shooter game that has a gradually reducing play area (A battle royale). The main difference is that it's not cartoon-y and is based on realistic gun physics, but is produced by a smaller studio and so is a little rougher around the edges from a performance standpoint. It's also a slower-paced game and is quite intense with headphones on.

Its just little kids yelling at you now 😂

This happens with every game that gets super popular like this.
It's just alright. I like BR games, but I don't like its building mechanic, which is an essential part of it.
DDonde · 31-35, M
@TeirdalinFirefall No, I mean the attitude of "This game that's really popular is actually the worst game ever".
TeirdalinFirefall · 31-35, M
@DDonde Ah, I guess for some games. Fortnite has numerous issues for why people dislike it though aside from prompting Epic Games to decide to try to monopolize popular games.

Originally it was a zombie survival where you built forts to survive the night waves, but they saw that PUBG was getting popular so they decided to add a PUBG mode to fortnite, and then later abandoned the normal zombie survival aspect of the game in lay of the stolen idea; upsetting a bunch of the original fans.

@TeirdalinFirefall Yeah. PUBG is where I started with BR games, and I actually like it a lot, even though that game is also controversial.
But even PUBG didn't come up with the idea, it's been a gradual evolution of the concept. They were just the first ones to do it well enough.

The fact that the successful BR formula was made F2P (and thus accessible to everyone) is what I think made Fortnite popular. I personally don't care for Fortnite because I don't like the building mechanic.
