Do you enjoy games that can make for a good spectacle to watch or just prefer good gameplay?

I enjoy a bit of both.

Just took a break from Rise of the Tomb Kings but I figured I'd share a little of said spectacle from my initial campaigns to conquer the coast of Araby and remove the crusading Bretonnian forces there.

Gameplay over graphics, every time!

@sometimeslonelytoo Absolutely. Though I can certainly appreciate a game that puts in the work to look pretty with good gameplay.

Of course. I find the technology behind computer graphics fascinating, but wasted if the game is not a pleasure!

@sometimeslonelytoo Indeed. Few things worse than a game that is unfun.

gameplay is everything
UndeadPrivateer · 31-35, M
@SW-User Quite true, it's what makes the game half of a video game. :P

@UndeadPrivateer and I say this as someone who cares about aesthetics a lot
UndeadPrivateer · 31-35, M
@SW-User Same here. Though good aesthetics plus good gameplay can make for quite the incredible experience. Only trouble is that graphics often don't age great(with some notable exceptions) while good gameplay is forever.

Homeworld 1 & 2 is a great example of when the two work perfectly and each improves the other, imo. Even aged very gracefully, though now we also have Remastered.
