1st Person Games

What are some good 1st person, NON-Shooter, game? I would love a detective game - for example, Sherlock Holmes, Hercule Poirot, or Miss Marple; a science fiction game such as "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy"; or a spy game.

I am a Quaker and want to use my brain, rather than play in a shoot-em-up.

L.A. Noir is a really good detective game. It's out on current and last gen consoles. I believe it's even VR compatible on the ps4. Idk if you are into strategy or not, but the Civilization series on pc is really good. Civ 5 was my favorite of the 6 that are out.
