Why do game developers think having a diverse ingame radio is "the next step"

I assume it's an artifact from the console dominance days. Not sure if current gen consoles allow video/music playback while a game is running though.

@SW-User Xbox One still has the Xbox Snap function...I haven't tried it myself honestly but you can have another app snapped on screen so you can do "stuff"

@Fangirlsarah1996 Your comment reminded me of EVE online. It used to have a built-in, very simple mp3 player with playlist function.

When the devs decided to remove that feature, since PC players already had other 3rd party options like youtube, winamp, etc... there was a massive outrage on the forums to reinstate it.

When I read those posts, I couldn't help thinking...Is this real life? is this just fantasy? Caught in a landslide, no escape from reality...

@SW-User Yeah I've seen a couple of PC games with that feature...though I've never actually used it (In favour of, again, Youtube)
