I Am For Gun Control

mind control, countries like Japan, Austria , Switzerland have as much guns per capita as USA and you don't hear about shootings. Americans should not be allowed to even own toy guns.

there are 5 times more knife murders than gun murders, so ban knives first, otherwise take responsibility for your own survival.
@xSharp agreed. The gangs and drugs are the result of societal breakdowns.

@BizSuitStacy so as long as it isn't where you live, its ok?

Granted this only goes to 2013: But how am I wrong again?:

@SoggedNapped where are you wrong?

1) you don't know where I live.
2) you've assumed that I'm ok with the violence in America's inner cities. I'm not.
3) you, like so many others from around the world believe that the cause of violence in the US is due to high gun ownership.
4) you flaunt the FBI UCR link as if it magically has the answer.

I've spent many years studying crime statistics, and gun control.

I'm sure you believe more guns = more violence. Well, here's something you missed in the FBI's UCR. The US firearm homicide rate is down 50% over the last 25 years. But gun ownership has nearly doubled. Gee...how could that possibly happen?

30K deaths via gun. Why put that stat out there if you know 20K of those are suicides? Are you intentionally misleading people, or did you MISS yet another detail?

Did you look at the firearm homicide statistics per US state? Why do some states like Vermont and Wyoming have firearm homicide rates on par with European countries like the UK, but states like California, Missouri, Maryland, Louisiana have firearm homicide rates on par with war zones? Do you have ANY explanation for the massive discrepancies within the US, or did you miss those also? And guess what? Vermont and Wyoming have far LESS gun control and far more guns per capita than states like California, Maryland, etc.

Did you bother looking at the firearm homicide rates within certain cities. How is it that a city like Chicago can have more than 500 firearm homicides in a given year, but cities adjacent to Chicago...many of those have 0.

What you've missed is that violence is concentrated within America's inner cities. If people TRULY want to reduce firearm violence...focus there. I've been screaming about these facts to my local legislators for years. It all falls on deaf ears.

Politicians talk about gun control. This is stupid because 90% of firearm homicides are committed by felons. And felons, by law, are banned from having guns. But they don't care about the laws and get the guns illegally instead.

Politician KNOW what the problem is...it's them and their stupid policies that keep people in poverty. Poor people resort to crime and violence to survive.
Firearms are highly regulated in Japan. Ownership is low compared to the U.S. However, Japan still experiences considerable violence. Until recently, family annihilation was not considered a crime.

I live in Japan.. I can't speak for Austria or Switzerland - and you are wrong.
SoggedNapped · 31-35, M
@Khenpal1 Nope.. Japan is much safer..and the number in USA is closer to 30K
Khenpal1 · M
@SoggedNapped there you see , don't give guns to gun crazy people :)
@SoggedNapped before you get sanctimonious about firearm deaths in the US, note that 67% of the gun deaths in US are suicides. You know about suicides and family annihilation in Japan, don't you.

Id you want to kill each other , get a horse and bow and arrows :)
@Khenpal1 in the event a group of whacked out meth heads break into your home at 3:00 am...good luck with your bow and arrow. I'll be grabbing my AR-15, thanks.
