I live in the Mountains

Not the Himalayas, not the Alps. The Welsh mountains. I can see the Mynydd Du from where I live. The Welsh mountains are not high. Mynydd Du is something over 800 metres. A friend in America said it's like the Appalachians.
I didn't go there last year. We weren't allowed more than 5km from our home except to go to school.
Maybe this summer. I love to walk on Mynydd Du. It means Black Mountain. It is limestone and there are loads of sink holes from the ice age but very few streams. But there is one, far from the road, and a waterfall where the river cascades down a gorge and on the crags there grows a mountain ash tree. Skinny and scraggy like me. It's been there ever since I was little. It doesn't grow any taller. It's the only tree on the whole mountain. But it grows flowers each year and in September it will have berries. Just a few.

I've seen photos. Beautiful! My son was in Wales a few years ago and loved it. Wants to go back.

I saw a clip of Welsh fans singing their anthem yesterday. Very moving.

@Longpatrol Oh yes. It brings tears to my eyes. I love my country. I love anyone who loves their country. In love may our countries work together in peace.
I think that's awesome!
