I Had A Strict Mother Growing Up

My mom was strict but very fair and very loving. There was nothing she wouldn't do for us though if we stepped outa line they'd be the likelihood of a sore butt to follow. Today my mom is a great friend to me and we often laugh about the past!

@Candice: It sounds as if you had a good childhood with love and care. That you got a sore bottom when deserving it was of course not pleasant at the time but even then you probably experienced it as utterance of maternal care so you felt safe and loved by your mum.

@karinaal: That feeling of being loved, protected, and guided is very important. I never had it growing up but I am very understanding of those who did. It helps if the recipient can cope well with the stinging in their bottom. I only developed that ability as an adolescent.
