My mom is religious and I could have set the world on fire with little notice from her. Maybe a scolding if someone noticed my antics and didn’t like me burning down their country.

Nothing wrong about strict parents. If they're also caring and loving.

My mom was stict and non-religious. She was a sinner (drinking and casual sex) yet expected me to behave like a perfect angel.

My Mother had a way about herself, not necessarily "strict" per se, but could get my attention with some well chosen phrases, that stopped me in my tracks!
