I think it was slightly later that they started to become so widely popular. But I'd say it's close enough that probably no one would think twice. Although it might be more realistic to stick with the flip phone.

the helio ocean was going strong then. it's possible, but not super likely, I'd think. more of a techie sort of thing to have then.

They did, I just don't think they were all big flat touch screens like they often are today. They slid to reveal keyboards or they looked like the Blackberry.

I think I had a Blackberry then...I remember taking photos of my baby and uploading them to FB...I'm not sure how common it was for teenagers to have them then though
