Do you have an HP notebook?

I've bought one before my father told me that his seems to make scratching sounds when getting shut down. I now figured that mine seems to also make these sounds whenever entering or coming back from hibernation state. My father is concerned by this, whilst I just would like to know what that is in particular.

Just sounds like the hard drive starting and stopping if it has one. That or the fans starting and stopping if it has one of those. Should in be a problem though. Unless the sound suddenly changes to something different or become random or there ends up being preformance issue that would indicate a failure.
