Did you have cable TV growing up?

I think my mom and dad said they first got it in 1991. I remember our cable provider changing a few times, either due to merging or being bought out by another company.

Not till 1980, I think.

One of the first things I saw was the very beginning of MTV.
Then my sister and I jumped around the living room like loons.

Cable didn't exist...

But we had a remote...

Dad would tell my older brother to get up and change to channel x....

Not until I was almost through high school.
Let’s put it this way. We were the first on our block to get a color tv. 📺

Cable TV distribution, started in 1948. By the early 1970s, it was pretty much standard in urban and suburban America.

We did, but I was usually pushed out of the house and forced to play outside while my mom and dad watched cable.

It was around 1980. After having had 7 or 8 channels and even a VCR, it was a whole other universe
