0.9999999999999999999999999999 infinity equals 1 true or false?

raysam363 · 31-35, F
Technically false. Practically true.
BlueVeins · 22-25
@raysam363 Technically true. 1/3 = .3 repeating, 1/3 x 3 = 1, and .3 repeating x 3 is .9 repeating. Thus, .9 repeating is 1.
raysam363 · 31-35, F
@BlueVeins Still .99999999 repeating. But unless you're dealing with extremely small units, it counts as 1 in the field of math and science.
BlueVeins · 22-25
@raysam363 But that's a mathematical proof. It's provable using only basic arithmatic and substitution.

0.9999999999999999999999999999 OF or TIMES infinity? That would be an invalid operation because infinity is not a number so there's no defined operation between a decimal number and infinity.
FurryFace · 61-69, M
it might as well
