What is the point of buying a brand new car...

When the previous model year is the same, but cost $5000 less? Talk about depreciation lol.
Yep, that's the thing about a new car. Once you drive it off the lot, the value just goes ⬇⬇⬇. Some vehicles do hold there value better than others, like SUVs.

@latinbutterfly Yeah, not bad toots, not bad at all!
@Wol62 The reviews say that the 2013 Malibu is underpowered with the base 4 cyl., but I think it's pretty peppy. I mean, it's a simple family sedan, not a Camaro or a Corvette lol

@latinbutterfly Ha! You still think you could beat me in a road race?

New car smell? 😄

@SW-User my car still smells new after 3 months
SW-User
@PainandPleasure nice!!! Love new cars

I tend to agree. Depreciation starts the instant we drive it off the lot.

Guess at least a person knows it's history intricately and how well it was taken care of.

I've had one brand new (my Dodge Charger) and I love it! .

Don't buy, lease it. It's better deal. I lease newest model and then buy it at the end of lease if I like it
I like the idea of a lease...my lifestyle doesn’t fit into the mileage restrictions though.@PainandPleasure

@Texasgurl I leased it with 15k/year. I think it's more than enough.
I’ve never purchased “new”..until recently.
Year end deals can be very attractive.

@Texasgurl The dealerships in my area are starting to have clearance events to get the 2019 models off the lots. It's very tempting 😅.
I got a 2019 for less than a used 2017 .@SW-User

If I could aford it, I'd lease it for a couple of years then move up to the latest version again.

Just to make it worse new cars have designed to fail deliberately built into them,so older cars can be better.

Never forget the look on a friends face the week after he bought a new car.
We went to Belgium for a friends stag weekend and on EVERY Ford forecourt was the same make and model at 3/4 the price he paid for his.

What are we talking about? A Jag or a Honda Civic?
SW-User
@SW-User A CR-V, actually.
SW-User
@SW-User if you can get one for a year less and 5,000 I would say go for it.

For people who don’t like their money or have too much of it.

Simply because it's new. No problems to figure out and very reliable. 😊❣️❤️
