I would not choose them deliberately. Sometimes I buy them because I didn't notice where they were made. I have had some bad experiences.

Once, I purchased a "stainless steel" dish drainer from Bed Bath and Beyond. I saved the box it came in, and I used it for almost 2 years before the "stainless steel" began to peel off. It turned out to be a coating of very thick, shiny paint, and the dish drainer was rusty iron underneath. The rust was getting all over my countertop.

I couldn't believe it, so I went to get the box, and sure enough, it was made in China, and it said in plain writing that it was stainless steel on the box.

In my opinion, China uses cheating and deceptive marketing in many cases, and the only things I would buy from China now are paper notebooks, or cotton dish towels, or things that can't rust or break down.

I go out of my way to avoid them.

Sometimes. Spyderco knives are technically USA by the company, but the cheap ones are made in China, and I've had a couple of Spyderco Tenacious knives made in China.

The Paramilitary 2 and the Manix 2 are US knives.

Electronics, yes. I trust the quality of Chinese, South Korean, Taiwanese, and Japanese products above other countries.

Not specifically. I tend to use our consumer reports for reviews before deciding.
