Let’s hope never. Can you imagine scammers sending you ammonia to smell and test after showing you delicious food?

If they do, hope we can filter out the hazardous part else people would be dropping dead everywhere.

When we can connect devices straight to our brain. It's impossible to create matter to sniff or lick, so such devices will need to trigger the appropriate neurons instead.
