Do you think there will be a cure for people suffering with spinal cord injuries?

Carla1951 · 70-79, F
This is what you would ask a Doctor. I seriously believe nobody within S.W. would have the answer you need. I don't even know if it's even been under discussion. However you have a good question here.
@Carla1951 I'm sure so where it has been explored but maybe funding or technology isn't available to persue it further.

I remember awhile back stem cell therapy was theorized to help with some spinal injuries.

@Carla1951 thanks! Just curious to see what people think.
Eventually yes. Until then there will be huge improvements to quality of life for them.

Stem cell may Be a promising therapy
As preliminary evidence suggests
Still early days though

@yeronlyman hope it's not too long away for it to start working on people.

@summerlove i kind of read the question wrong . thought it asked about support group . technology today is always improving . somebody is probably working on a cure . if it is help for you or someone you know , i hope it's soon !
There will NEVER be a cure for anything again. Ever. The medical community is still kicking it self over the Salk vaccine- a one- or two time shot. HAD they made a treatment for it there would be a "come back" and trillions more would have been made. And it all about treatment- not cure- ever. Putting your money to 'research for a cure" is a waste of money.

personally, i feel optimistic that humanity will, eventually, overcome that obstacle. may not emanate from our current society … but, if humanity does endure … why not?
