WTF is wrong with my windows 10 pc?

I have not connected my pc to any kind of internet for atleast 3 months. And its asking me to restart my pc to apply updates. Where the hell whose updates came from?

If you had not, and still have not connected to the internet via cable or WiFi, then the only answer is it can't happen. Just can't. Now, if you haven't turned it on since you last had it connected, it could be it's reacting to a notice for an update that it received prior to being shut down.

@frequentlyme I connected my pc to internet probably 3months ago. Then I disconnected all sorts of network connection and the ethernet cable..

@LostGuy Then, if you had no WiFi or direct wire (Ethernet cable), and still do not, it had to load the last time it was connected. If you haven't connected to the net, there is no other possible answer.
The biggest problem I see here is that you have Windows 10
@LostGuy Me too. Don't know why they thought 8 or 10 were an improvement

@Qwerty14 Like the EP improvements? 😂

@LostGuy Actually, it doesnt matter what version of windows you're using, the problem is with a security flaw in the chips in the computer. If you're not running the updates because you "know better" then your computer is going to be WIDE OPEN for anyone to get into it if they want.

They are automatic updates, ignore them at your peril! Lol you are too far in the rabbit hole!

It's not a problem with your PC and anyone who is saying it's Windows 10 needs to get off of their high horse.

The issue is with a security flaw in the chips in your computer itself. _All_ electronics (Windows, Mac, Android, anything that has a chip in it) is suffering from security flaws in it by the design of the chip. That's what those patches are trying to fix.

Keep calm, run your updates and be glad that they're actually watching out for your security instead of trying to sell you a new computer to fix the problem.

I know about the intel processors kernel bug. They knew about the bug for a long time. But they never focused on the bug unless hackers started to exploid this thing... they kept on making processors generation after generation with the same architectural flaw. And know the update windoes is going to provide to fix the problem is not only weak (as it is a hardware flaw) will also decrease performance by a significant margin.

@LostGuy Yep, that's exactly what all the reports stated when the issue was released. It's not just Intel though. AMD is hit by this too which is why every computer made in the past 15 years is being affected by this.

It is bloody crap, Windows 7 is better.

@msros I think Xp was the last solid windows version, win98 prior to that. Just my opinion.
msros · F
