Anyone here know much about cars and/or speakers?

My car speakers seem to have gotten gradually quieter over four years. I used to turn it up to 10, which was pretty loud. Now, to get that same volume, I need to turn it up to 45. And the problem seems to be progressing faster and faster, because only a few months ago, I would turn it up to just 35.

I had my hearing checked. No problem there.

I asked a friend (who knows a lot about cars) if I blew them—she said that if I had blown them, they wouldn’t just get quieter. They would also sound awful. Is that true?

Help?

If everything checks out with the ground and wiring the internal amplifier could be going bad in your radio.

Sounds like a ground issue. Check the ground to the radio, also make sure all wiring is secure and not touching where they should t be.

@Joker What do you mean by “ground”?
Joker · 36-40, M
@InvaderNice there’s a black wire that connects to the wiring harness in the back of the radio.
