@PennyHenny First of all, don't call them that. It's very offensive, and there's no reason for it. Secondly, trans people aren't trans because they change their bodies, they're trans because they feel that they belong to a different gender. It's a mental thing, not a biological one. When a trans person gets an operation, they aren't changing themselves as a person, they're changing their body to fit who they are as a person.

While it's true that trans people often have mental health issues, it's not because they're trans, it's because of the way people treat them for it, the fear of that treatment, or hatred of themselves because of a bigoted upbringing or society. Being transgender is not a mental illness.

Regardless of all of that, @Graciebaby being trans has nothing to do with the subject. As I said, focus of what they say, not who they are. Because attacking someone's beliefs because of who they are doesn't attack their beliefs, it just huts the reputation of the people arguing the same point as you, and makes future communication with that person and others like them more difficult. It's not worth it, it doesn't make sense, and it's just a shitty thing to do.

Why does it matter, though? Does it affect you if someone you don't know or care about goes through a surgery that makes them feel more comfortable and safe? Is it really that hard to call someone who dresses like a woman and feels like a woman "She"?

@PennyHenny Okay, maybe I need to be clearer with my point: You don't get to decide what's natural, biologists have come to the consensus that trans issues are the realm of psychologists, who have come to the consensus that it isn't a mental illness. But of course they could be wrong, because they're not the arbiters of what is natural either (Though they're a good bit more qualified than you). But we don't know, so why not treat everyone with some respect, and at least the most basic amount of human decency, even if you don't agree with them?

As for you "common sense" point, no. That's not an argument. Common sense is different for everyone, so is totally irrelevant as an argument.
