Inconvenient Truth.. Water Wars..

Dateline Capetown South Africa.TODAY! A prosperous city of almost four Million people, will RUN OUT of fresh water in April after three years of Drought. This is NOT a case of a bunch of poor black people who dont know any better.. This is a thriving sea coast Metropolis who's only mistake is not keeping the infrastructure up to date with the growing population over the past few decades. This is what happens when governments do not plan and invest long term..Pretty soon there are going to be millions of angry thirsty people trying to get their kids water to drink.
How is your government doing??

Central planning at its best.
nedkelly · 61-69, M
@lorne13 He was being cynical
lorne13 · 61-69, M
@nedkelly hope so, hes a little weird
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@lorne13 Find one place in history where central planning worked out well.

it won't be long before we ALL will be struggling to find water. Mad Maxx. Can't take it for granted anymore
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Fernie You don't understand recycling? Duh!
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@hippyjoe1955 Joe... Enjoy drinking your own water..
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@Fernie That is the prediction. Fresh water will be the next "oil". But there is no alternative. We have to have it or die.
nedkelly · 61-69, M
My government is Australia is USELESS - Water is the lifeline to survival, countries should have in place the ability to build more dams
nedkelly · 61-69, M
@whowasthatmaskedman We have a desalination plant in Sydney and was built to supply water to Sydney and the greater area, the major dam was running at 40% capacity and now we are at 98%, a waste of money - build more dams TODAY
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@nedkelly Okay. I dont have a problem with more dams, thats planning.. As long as it rains.
nedkelly · 61-69, M
@whowasthatmaskedman more vision equals more dams
I don't think Cape Town will ever run out of fresh water.

But we'll see what happens.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@PuppetOnStrings Yes.. And we will never run out of oil and there is no global warming.. Draw the curtains and go watch the Kardashians
Oh. Wow. Real mature.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@PuppetOnStrings If you make silly statements not supported by evidence or thought of any kind, be prepared to be put back in your box.. This is not Trumpland.
walabby · 61-69, M
Our government bought lots of desalinators that have yet to provide one drop of water, but cost a fortune to maintain. We have gone the opposite way....
Quizzical · 46-50, M
I guess they have never heard of desalinisation 🤔
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@Quizzical Luckily other places have.. But this is just the first time this is happening.. Who is next..?
Quizzical · 46-50, M
@whowasthatmaskedman I would not worry... Apparently we're all going to neck deep in water anyway.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@Quizzical None of it drinkable , unless they build desalination plants all over ..
pennynoodles · 56-60, F
Not great but we don't have a water shortage. ... I am grateful for what we do have.
