In your opinion, what conclusion would the following AI (artificial intelligence) arrive at ?

I'm a mad scientist again. I create an AI and instruct it to learn all it can about the life forms on Earth and the planet itself. I then ask it, "What needs to be done in order to save the majority of life forms on this planet ?"

Humans should keep their hands to themselves. Simple.

I guess it depends on what your definition of being "saved". Humans could be reprogrammed to be emotionless drones that have no motivation to harm, no motivation to love...it'd eliminate the driving forces that make people do terrible things. Maybe it protects them....but at the same time it makes them extremely boring. So maybe a less drastic approach. Replace all weapons with puppies and kittens.

@SW-User I think if I was that AI then I would decide that Humans need to be removed from Earth.

@Wraithorn You know when I read your post I didn't read "majority of life forms" as meaning all other species on the planet. I misread it as saving the majority of humans. But yea you're right...we're definitely the more destructive force that puts the rest at risk.

@SW-User No worries. I can't say that I have never misread a question.

Depends how you define the question, but the possible outcomes are surprising. For one, it might ENCOURAGE polluting the sea. Sure some organisms will be harmed by this, but others, notably certain forms of microbial life and some invertebrates could thrive in vast numbers.

It might also give up, unable to find a way to cheat mortality itself, it may conclude there is no way to save any life form.

Or who knows what else?

Lots of things that are not done and will never be done in this profit orientated world.
