None of these disorders are genetically acquired, all of them occur because of a combination of factors which always include both genetics and environmental influence none can be said to come from all one or the other.
Simply put, and ther is really nothing simple about it, a sociopath is actually a person with antisocial personality disorder. Antisocial personality disorder. Psychopathy can be thought of as a more severe form of sociopathy with more symptoms. Therefore, all psychopaths are sociopaths but sociopaths are not necessarily psychopaths.
The traits of each may seem similar but it is thought that sociopaths have a less severe form of lack of empathy and lack of guilt so sociopaths are less likely to be caught up in the criminal justice system.

@Subsumedpat Yeah I think I mentioned the "all psychopaths are sociopaths but sociopaths are not necessarily psychopaths" part in my previous post.

The trouble is that there are as many different definitions for the difference between psychopaths and sociopaths as there are opionated people. The article you're quoting was written by Chris Weller, Business Insider's "Innovation Reporter", a tech startup hype-riser basically.
The fact is that BOTH are basically media-sexy Hollywood terms (Although Psychopathy does see some significance in criminology in particular). DSM-IV, the accepted manual on science of psychology in the USA only knows of Antisocial Personality Disorder, the technical term, the rest is basically pop-psychology. For some real science, there is for example http://www.openaccessjournals.com/abstract/misconceptions-regarding-psychopathic-personality-implications-for-clinical-practice-and-research-6158.html

it's also annoying when people don't understand the difference between Multiple personality disorder and schizophrenia.
And when people don't know that color blindness means that you can see color but you have a hard time to differ between certain colors.
In summary, people are fucking stupid.

@MartinTheFirst 😂... yeah colour blind CAN see colour... but in MOST cases the two most common colours they cannot distinguish between is Red and Green... hence someone who is colour blind cannot obtain a drivers licence in South Africa.
