I Am Not What People Expect

I have been on my won since I was 13 almost 14 ,had a job ,supported my girlfriend and I ,we had out own place ,,I was in boot camp 2 weeks after turning 17 ,
I was saving lives and taking men into custody 7 months later
Was hired to be the lead running repair machinist for a major rail road at 21
Was divorced by 23 and she hid my kids from me for the next 12 yrs
When my second wife left me at 34 ,,,it finally hit me ,,it was not them
it was me ,,My Girls have all been through a lot the 12 yrs I didn't know where they were ,,,so they were like Dad ,self made know it alls
It was about 30 for them ,they started say ,,,Dad will you tell me if this is a good guy or not ,,I told him I am not dating him unless you approve
And I walked 1 down the Aisle twice ,she did it the right way but her man died
from heart failure related to kidney failure ,but she has picked 2 good men
The other 2 ,,,well all they got from the 1st ones were 2 kids each ,,one got himself killed ,,,I almost killed the other one
I am saying all I did before 34 did not prove maturity ,,our brains are not fully developed until around 30 ,,boys take longer usually (now days I wonder if they do at all )
Don't be like me ,,in a hurry to show I was wiser than a Grandpa who helped build a town ,or the other that defended our country in 2 wars
or a Dad who helped put men on the moon
I had done more than they ever did ,,,owned a home way before they ever did
had nicer cars than they ever would ,,but
I did not have the wisdom that comes with age ,,I have eat a lot of crow since then ,,,but now I am the wise one ,,,but I paid a lot for that experience
I was not near as wise about like ,as I assumed I was ,,,and I lived in Miami without any family except my wife at 17 ,,,but that did not mean I was wise
It meant I had a good job and I was to dumb to be scared
