I Am Scared of Heights

Normally I’m not at all scared or if I am it doesn’t bother me but I ended up petrified once when I was with my theatre group and we were learning to operate the varied equipments all of which involved being very f...ing high up. There’s these thin bridges up at the ceiling that go over the audiences where certain technical stuff happens which does not feel safe to be on but in a one of the smaller rooms there aren’t any bridges and it’s basically just what looks like a big grate and you can see beneath you sooo easily that it might as well have been a glass floor! But it definitely wasn’t because the grate thing moved under our weight a little as we crossed it. I got barely even a quarter of the way onto it very slowly while shaking visibility apparently and stuttering because a girl asked if I’d be ok and nonsense came out of my mouth and then I couldn’t move. Like, at all. I couldn’t even process what anyone was sayin to me but i figured it was probably concern or encouragement but it wasn’t working, I know one girl asked something about walking back or needing help and I just stuttered out that ‘I cant remember’ which clearly made nooo sense at all, two of them held my hand and arm and one put her hands on my sides/back to support me and help get me to the much safer looking platform and we did get there eventually, it was horrible I’ve never felt so vulnerable and confused in my life and the worst is that I’m not even that scared of heights, I was thoroughly humiliated after my senses returned but everyone tried to be good about it and the girls that helped, two of them in particular, were really supportive and nice about it but I didn’t go back on that grate thing again.
