I Love My Friends, Regardless of Their Pasts

All I have is Internet friends,

Let me tell you something. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that. People on the Internet are real and they can be better friends than the people right next to you. Some of my best friends are from the Internet — They've helped me when I've hurt and they've listened to me when I had no one else. They've been the ones who I've learned to trust in, and even though we may live hundreds, even thousands of miles away frorn each other, they're close to me in my heart and distance doesn't have a say in how much I care for them and how much they care for me.

They became my lifeline. My joke-tellers. My voice of reason. The people I turned to when I had no-one else. You can't let me tell you that and question whether or not they are true friends. They're real friends no matter what.

We all seek different things from friendships at different times according to how we're feeling or what our situations are but realising that our friends are not defined by 'real' or 'internet' is the key to appreciating all the friendships that we are lucky enough to be part of. It doesn't matter if they're the other side of the world or they just up the road; They're still my friend. A real friend.

So when you say, All I have is Internet friends, think about this. Some of the best people you'll ever know are people that you've never met. Trust me.
