Why can't I message ?
The message 'You must wait until this user responds before you can message them again.' appears when I want to message a few of my friends. Why does this happen ?

A few of my friends are unaware they have done this. I know this because I had to open another account to get a message to them which succeeded ! All very strange.

I think certain users put a message limit on their settings somehow
