How come when you look up your health symptoms online (established medical pages by the way) they'll always tell you you might die?

I have this blister on the tip of my finger, I remember it forming weeks ago, and now it's white. I've had it happen before, but WEB MD is trying to tell me I'm going to die or that I have herpes.

Really?

WebMD is only useful in that it tells you when you need to go to the doctor and when it is NOT an emergency. Blister skin, especially thick or calloused skin, usually puffs away from it's own blood supply and dies. That's just dead skin. If the blister breaks, the dead skin will dry up and can be carefully removed.

@4meAndyou yeah I burnt the end of one finger on a dry cast iron skillet and it turned white on the end.
