🤔 I think I did lockdown wrong. I I didn’t buy anything cool. My biggest splurge was my use of time. I got to do nothing as long as I wanted and it was glorious!
A lot of household items, appliances and furniture and paid off a vacation, clothes, pretty much buying what ever I want because they want to keep throwing money at us and not open everything to capacity still in my state. That being said gas is now $3.00 a gallon. It’s getting ridiculous.
@Stereoguy yeah just pack and go, if you need something stop at a store and get it. No dragging luggage back and forth and no worry about bedbugs when you get home...yikes. And can save some money on meals when you can fix some meals in the RV or have a sandwich etc.
@Keepitsimple yes I live in Oklahoma and we usually have one of the lowest gas prices here and it’s gone way up like the rest of the country. I can’t even imagine how expensive it is in L.A. or NY though, they always have high gas prices anyway.
@Stereoguy it’s fun ! All of his reasoning was valid . He had already taught me how to fly the plane , but I needed the FAA certifications . He wanted a co pilot . Safety wise it was very sound thinking . When he asked my why I wouldn’t share that part of his life with him ... I cried . I hadn’t looked at it like that . So I did it ... I fly can all over by myself now , but I prefer to do it with him 🤷🏻♀️
@OldMan70 yeah I cooked different kinds of breads and stocked up on baking supplies. Some new recipes and meals. Only had about 5 restaurant meals last year so it was good.
@OldMan70 I don’t eat fast food so that’s not an option. Can’t have gluten & that means no bread or anything with wheat in it. The restaurants I went to had some items without gluten in them.

We redecorated, ordered alot from Amazon, made alot of banana muffins, home made meals, signed up for more streaming apps, etc.
During lockdown I didn't shop for myself, and very few places deliver groceries. The one that does, locally typically costs about $40 more per delivery than buying at the places that DON'T deliver. Then there is a delivery fee on top of that. So every month, $50 to $100 more than I normally pay for food...and that was AFTER things calmed down and I was actually able to GET fresh food.
I ordered a lot of take out during that time until I became so upset with ALL the local delivery services. One of them, Grub Hub, had a driver who REFUSED to enter the building due to COVID19, and Door Dash could never, ever find my apartment. I used to have to call them and walk them through the directions. 98% of them didn't speak English, so it was a nightmare trying to use their service.
Then, I think because I was home so much, I started just...BUYING little things on the internet. It wasn't very much, but over a period of 1 year, it all added up.
@Stereoguy It was a down sizing move. The other house was too big and I had a 2500 sq ft shop. I don’t do restoration work anymore so it was time to move on.
@Stereoguy I like the escape better.Though the Escape is in my name,it is my daughter's.It has everything.My husband travels far for work and loves his gas milage.He may get a new Harley.
@Stereoguy Thank you. 1536 square feet on each of the two floors. Big project but I did it to market and sell later as well as family and friend entertainment area. Used the cedar and popular trees from my farm that had to be moved for the house placement as the post and rails for my stairs. this is what I am finishing now.
@Stereoguy I have Dell computers. My newest from 2018 died a few months ago, which has never happened to me and I've been using computers since the 1980s. I'm back on my 10-year-old i5. I'm looking at a new i5 with an SSD and a regular hd. I'm pricing them at around $399.00.
Orders from Swanson since I no longer shop at Sprouts & haven’t been to a Walmart or Any pharmacy in a good long while. Next thing was a Berkey water filter to keep me from buying bottled water.
Ordering supplements, gluten free flours & other baking stuff at Swanson, buying a Berkey water filter...doesn’t seem like a splurge as much as health-oriented things.
