What benefits are there to either party?
We can send PM's already, that includes photos and links offsite, so what else is there to it?

On the top right of the main feed, there's a dropdown menu that allows you to, for example, only show stories and questions posted by friends.

The settings menu, why would I only want to know what my friends were posting?, that would be like only reading the sports pages or horoscopes in the paper. I wouldn't see enough new posts or people to develop my knowledge or add more friends .
